Woman files complaint against son

STAFF REPORTER- The Hindu-28.9.2016 : A 76-year-old woman has filed a police complaint against her son for allegedly driving her out of their house in New Friend’s Colony earlier this month. In her complaint filed on Monday, the woman, Savita Sharma, said she had inherited the house after her husband’s death, and had been staying with her youngest son, Samir, since 1997. One of her sons is mentally challenged, while another lives in Greater Noida. On September 12, Samir allegedly forced her to leave the house with some clothes saying he had sold off the house. They then shifted to a rented accommodation in the area, but he asked her to leave that house as well on September 17. The woman then started staying at a hotel near Greater Kailash-II. “The decision to suddenly vacate the house was taken to throw me outside,” the woman said in her complaint. A case under sections of maintenance and welfare of parents and Senior Citizen’s Act has been registered. Officials say the case attracts …

Sep 30 2016 : The Times of India (Delhi) Widow, not dead man's mom, will get pension: SC Dhananjay Mahapatra New Delhi   Deciding a long and bitter `saas-bahu' fight over a dead man's pension, the Supreme Court stood behind the daughter-in-law and ruled that a widow alone was entitled to pension after death of an employee and not his mother.A bench of Justices A R Dave and L Nageshwar Rao faced a tricky question while deciding this dispute between the mother and wife of deceased Haryana government employee Yash Pal.While the widow laid claim to her late husband's pension, the mother cited the Hindu Succession Act to stake her claim.
Writing the judgment for the bench, Justice Dave said so far as provisions of Hindu Succession Act, 1956 were concerned, the properties of a Hindu who dies intestate (without writing a will) would first of all go to persons categorised as class-I heirs.

Sub: Implementation of the recommendations of 7th CPC- Revision of Post-2016 pension cases. Ref: Railway Board’s letter No. 2016/F(E)/III/1/ (1)8 dated 12.08.2016.

The detailed instruction for revision of the settlement dues as well as pension/family pension of railway servants who retired/died in harness on or after 01.01.2016 has been issued vide above referred letter. Necessary modifications in ARPAN software has already been done and is ready for deployment. Similar modifications in IPAS software have also been processed by CRIS. The scheme for revision of the cases whether settled through ARPAN/IPAS as mentioned below may be adopted uniformly across the railways for timely completion of the revision process.

NFRP, Bharat Pensioners Samaj & AIFPA Chennai are MOU partners and together we represent over 10 lac pensioners and have successfully walked through decades, serving the cause of pensioners.
